ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)

ENT, or Otorhinolaryngology, involves the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the ear, nose, throat, and related structures. The curriculum provides students with knowledge of conditions such as hearing loss, sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, throat cancers etc. Students gain hands-on experience in both medical management and surgical treatments, including ear surgeries, endoscopic sinus surgeries, and vocal cord interventions. The course emphasizes patient care, focusing on managing conditions that impact respiratory function, speech and hearing. ENT training also prepares students to handle emergencies like airway obstructions or facial trauma.

Course Description & Details

At the end of the course, the student should be able to

Understand the anatomy and physiology of the ear, nose, throat, and related structures, including common disorders affecting them.
Diagnose and manage ENT conditions, such as otitis media, sinusitis, laryngitis, and hearing loss.
Comprehend the principles of ENT surgery, including tonsillectomies, Nose surgeries, Oral surgeries, adenoidectomies, and ear surgeries.
Provide management for common ENT emergencies, such as foreign body aspiration, airway obstruction, and facial trauma.
Promote preventive ENT healthcare, including ear hygiene, nasal care, and the early detection of hearing and speech disorders.
